Ivar’s Display – East Coast Expansion
Ivar’s Cabinet Shop Inc. of Ontario, Calif., will build its first plant outside of California in a shell building in Foothills Commerce Center in Shelby, North Carolina.
Ivan Gundersen, CEO of Ivar’s, says the availability of the spec building helped him decide to bring the new facility to North Carolina.
“Paired with a supportive business climate and incentives, the community and the state fit our needs perfectly,” he says.
N.C. Gov. Pat McCrory says Ivar’s will make Cleveland County its East Coast base of operations.
“This family-owned, technology-driven manufacturer is a natural fit for our state and another example of companies understanding that our improving business climate and talented work force make North Carolina the place for their business to succeed,” McCrory states in a release about the Ivar’s decision.
Founded in 1966, Ivar’s makes display showcases, shelving and other products that are used by retailers and others around the country. The products carry the brand name Ivar’s Displays.
The 100,000-square-foot shell building that Ivar’s will occupy is the second spec building for Foothills Commerce Center.
